Programs and Communities

Project Beisbol is currently working with teams in 12 communities in Nicaragua. We will soon expand this support to other communities in Nicaragua and the region.

Managua

Managua

The neighborhood of Barrio Lenin Grado in Managua is home to Project Béisbol’s first Nicaraguan recipient program. The baseball and softball teams—Los Papuchos and Las Papuchas—demonstrate core the values held near and dear to Project Béisbol. Far surpassing the love of the game, the passion and dedication demonstrated by both the players and dedicated coaches are an inspiration to our team of volunteers.

Jinotega

Jinotega

High in the tranquil mountains north of the capital, Jinotega stands as one of the centers of baseball in Nicaragua. In 2009, Project Béisbol collaborated with community leaders—ranging from engineers and radio personalities to government officials—to secure the necessary baseball equipment for the kids to play and to plan program continuity. Project Béisbol is proud to partner with such leaders working toward a brighter future for the children.

San Isidro

San Isidro

San Isidro is home to many passionate baseball leagues, including the program El Coro and Las Maravillas C. Jarquin. Although these teams are rivals on the field, the coaches and community leaders team up to provide the kids with the necessary supplies from various organizations and private donations. Based on current and planned support from Project Béisbol, these dedicated leaders will provide access to the sport in the most impoverished areas in and around San Isidro.

Rivas and San Juan del Sur

Rivas and San Juan del Sur

The city of Rivas and close by San Juan del Sur are home to thousands of youngsters in love with baseball and softball. Project Beisbol is proud to partner with community organizations like the Academia de Beisbol Menor Rivas. Community leaders managing the Academia have enthusiastically embraced a partnership with Project Béisbol, enhancing established leagues to better serve the children.

Nandaime

Nandaime

Within two weeks of receiving equipment support from Project Béisbol, the Nandaime barrio, La Barranca, was able to restart its rural baseball league. In honor of the volunteers that make Project Béisbol’s work possible, the league was named Project Béisbol. We at Project Béisbol are humbled by this most gracious gesture and look forward to seeing the growth the league has undergone since our last visit.
