Project Beisbol is pleased to offer its first full-time salaried position. One of our generous supporters donated the funds to be directed specifically for the purpose of hiring a much-needed, full-time employee. This new position will enable Project Beisbol to use every dollar donated even more efficiently and effectively that we have as a 100% volunteer organization for 11 years. Furthermore, it will enable Project Beisbol to reach and empower more kids in more communities across the region. 

Administrative Manager, Colombia

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Location: Colombia (preferably Bogota), travel within Colombia required

Salary: 1.500.000 - 3.000.000 COP per month (depending on qualifications)
Report and Work Structure: Report to president and founder, work with volunteers in Colombia

Work Location: Work primarily in office (65%) with some community and constituent visits (20%), independent work (10%), and travel within Colombia (5%). These percentages are approximations.

Job Description

Administrative Manager will be responsible for implementing strategic plans to achieve organizational goals across all functions - administration, operations, marketing and communications, development, and community relations. Manager will work closely with Project Beisbol’s president and founder to take on important day-to-day responsibilities, including communications with constituents in the USA and Colombia, which requires strong communications skills in English and Spanish.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Manage budget and relationship with accountants

  • Manage communications with everyone contacting the organization in the USA and Colombia, including potential equipment and monetary donors and volunteers in the USA, as well as teams requesting equipment support in Latin America

  • Manage government compliance matters in the USA and Colombia, including IRS, DIAN, and other federal and state requirements

  • Manage proposal and program development

  • Manage exchange programs

  • Manage website updates

  • Manage social media

  • Manage public relations in USA and Colombia

  • Translate materials

  • Manage communications with equipment recipients and community partners in Colombia

  • Manage equipment inventory, shipping and tracking in Colombia

  • Coordinate missions to the communities in Colombia

  • Assist with volunteer management

  • Assist with donor relations (equipment and monetary)

  • Assist with fundraising initiatives in USA and Colombia

  • Assist with corporate and government relations in USA and Colombia

  • Assist with International Volunteer Programs and Volunteer Experiences

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Fluent in Spanish and a solid upper-intermediate (B2) level in English (speaking, listening, reading, writing)

  • Undergraduate university degree

  • One-year experience in administration, fundraising, operations and/or marketing/communications

  • Strong communications skills – verbal and written English and Spanish

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Very organized, assertive and goal-oriented

 

Preferences (in order of priority)

  • Non-profits and community work experience

  • Social media experience

  • Fundraising experience

  • Public relations experience

  • Sales experience

  • Government relations experience

  • Baseball/softball playing and coaching experience 

  • Knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese

  • Experience with website management platforms

  • Experience with design programs (e.g. InDesign)

  • Experience working with kids

We are in the process of strategic growth with regard to our program offerings and the amount of kids and young leaders we will benefit. This new position is integral to that growth and our hope is that the individual selected for this position will grow with our organization personally and professionally.

 

Regarding work load and variety for tasks, Project Beisbol is a small non-profit organization administratively despite the geographic scope of its work. Therefore, there will be plenty of time in the work week to complete assigned tasks although the range of tasks may seem quite broad. Furthermore, training will be provided in all areas.
